Employment Act 2008 receives Royal Assent

2nd December 2008

The Employment Act 2008 received Royal Assent on 13 November 2008 and will come into force in April 2009. The current statutory dispute resolution procedures much hated by lawyers and laymen alike are to be abolished and replaced with a new regime.

Under the new rules Employment Tribunals are to have regard to the new ACAS code of practice on discipline and grievance in dealing with most employment claims.

An article on the new rules will be published here in the New Year and Pearson Hinchliffe Commercial Law will be running a series of free seminars for business owners in the run down to the introduction of the new regulations.
