Lawyer awarded £82,000 against suspended Law Firm
29th January 2010
Pearson Hinchliffe Commercial Law has achieved an award of over £82,000 for a lawyer client in the Employment Tribunal on 21 December 2009. The client had been unfairly dismissed and not paid his proper remuneration the Tribunal held.
The client who is a solicitor won his award against Wolstenholmes LLP. Three days later the Solicitors Regulation Authority intervened at Wolstenholmes LLP and suspended five of its solicitors from practice due to accusations of financial irregularities with client monies. Pearson Hinchliffe Commercial Law is now trying to enforce the Tribunal award on behalf of the client.
Wolstenholmes Solicitors, which opened in 1818, was closed down and five solicitors had their licences suspended by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) amid claims of dishonest behaviour.
