As solicitors providing legal advice to the construction industry, Pearson Hinchliffe Commercial law is to host a seminar on how SMEs can win tenders for larger contracts by way of Joint Ventures (JV) with like-minded companies.
Part of the Oldham Construction Sector initiative set up 2 years ago by the Chamber of Commerce and Oldham Council, this seminar will explain how smaller construction companies can join forces under a JV in order to meet the requirements laid down by procurement officers; it is quite clear from our discussions that there is no reason why a JV company should not be able to deliver a contract as well as one with single ownership providing that the JV company has a sufficiently strong structure to give comfort to the employer that the contract can be delivered satisfactorily.
Our aim is to devise an economical way for SMEs to break into the larger contract scene. Participants in the Joint Venture seminar will learn the formula which will give a new JV relationship the best chance of success.
