MorePRESS RELEASE: 21 November, 2008
A law firm established in Oldham town centre for more than 100 years is drawing new clients from across the North West since moving its commercial division close to junction 22 of the M60 at Hollinwood a year ago.
Pearson Hinchliffe Commercial Law, which moved from its parent company’s headquarters in Queen Street, held an anniversary celebration for staff and other businesses at the Hollinwood Business Centre site.
“People have really warmed to the business-friendly environment here and our fantastic roster of corporate clients has fully embraced the shift to Hollinwood,” said Mike Pitt, Employment Law partner at the firm. “Although it has been a tough year for companies in general, we’ve picked up quite a few new clients from across the region...and accessibility has been a key factor in many of these client wins”.
Partners: Michael Pitt (Employment), Christopher Burke (Litigation) and Roger Hinchliffe (Company & Commercial) at the 1-year birthday celebration.
Christopher Burke, litigation partner, who led the change-management team said, “We wanted to bring new and existing clients with us philosophically as well as physically, by creating a practice that doesn't have the rigid configuration of a traditional high street practice. Our position at Hollinwood is great because we have been able to develop increasingly bespoke systems, greater client focus and ultimately a more tailored client service.”
“So far we have managed to buck the economic trend too,” added Mike Pitt, “with the team busy on a number of share and asset sales and business and commercial property purchases. However, we predict a challenging period for businesses over the next few months. We will be supporting firms with very customised commercial guidance through the downturn, because with the backing of the right legal advice, financial institutions are still willing to support acquisitions, MBOs and MBIs and other strategies”.
The anniversay celebration event took place at the firm’s Albert Street premises on Wednesday [19 November 2008].
