Pearson Hinchliffe Commercial Law’s News Release

Pearson Hinchliffe Commercial Law’s recently entertained 30 key corporate guests to a half-day event amid the comfortable surrounds of the Marriott Hotel and Country Club in Worsley. The annual summer barbecue is part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to maintaining contact with its loyal network of clients and professional associates from across the borough and to show its gratitude.

£360 was raised for its nominated charity of the day, Dr Kershaw’s Hospice during the day, the result of the generosity of the guest who participated in a charity raffle.

Client Appreciation

On the day, Michael Pitt, Pearson Hinchliffe partner and head of Employment Law and Commercial Property, welcomed guests saying, “Pearson Hinchliffe relocated its niche commercial division to Hollinwood Business Centre three years ago and the move has been a great success despite the economic recession. We wanted to say thank you and give something back in appreciation of your support.”

Following the introduction guests were entertained to a Pimms reception after which the team of 13 Pearson Hinchliffe staff led the group off for several games held on in the grounds of the Marriott hotel.

Fun and Games

More than just a barbecue party, the half day event itself was packed full of quirky activities including giant Jenga and ‘duck herding’ – a surprising hit - as teams attempted to steer the reluctant fowl around several obstacles with often comical consequences. Guests also had the opportunity to try their hand at archery, under the guidance of professional instructors, and, one for golfers and novices alike, a ‘closest to the pin’ competition.

Prize Giving and Charity Raffle

One of the highlights of the day was the award giving ceremony once everyone had assembled back in the Terrace Room. Before handing over the medals and prizes to the winners, Michael Pitt congratulated the winners and expressed his thanks to everyone for the good humour in which they participated in the whole event.

Michael began the presentations by handing a prize of 4 holes at the Marriott’s golf course to guest Richard Tamworth, winner of the ‘closest to the pin’ contest.

Next up was Paul Bolton of Morris Dean Chartered Surveyors who took the medal for victory in the archery competition.

Most anticipated of all was the announcement of first place in the duck herding challenge, Ian Gately of Gately Reid Accountants who claimed his winner’s medal.

The afternoon was rounded off with a charity raffle. Proceeds from the raffle ticket sales went to Dr Kershaw’s Hospice which was the nominated charity for the day. Several luxury prizes were donated by Pearson Hinchliffe Commercial Law including a bouquet of flowers, Swiss chocolates and a bottle of Champaign. A total of £360 was raised and the top prize of an Amazon Kindle e-book reader was received by Joanne Nuttall of Breakey and Nuttall chartered surveyors. Joanne then drew a round of appreciative applause from the gathered attendees by immediately donating her prize to Dr Kershaw’s.

Last up, but not least, was Laura Pracy, Pearson Hinchliffe litigation solicitor, who was presented a bouquet of flowers by Michael Pitt in appreciation for her hard work in planning and coordinating the whole event.

No one left empty handed with each guest receiving a complimentary gift bag containing a Pearson Hinchliffe branded mug and pen, chocolates and a special one day pass to the Marriott’s leisure facilities.

Laura Pracy said, “We had a great day of fun, laughter, and celebration with everyone involved. This is our way of expressing our deep appreciation to our valued clients and partners for their continued confidence and commitment to our organisation. We feel truly gratified for being able to have built these successful long-term relationships and also be able to give back to our local community.”

ENDS.
